You don’t even need to open Instagram to see how much of a online presence Two Sis & Co. has. Just sit down for a meal, or even just a drink, and the amount of cameras pointing towards food will give you a fair idea.
From beautiful pouring shots of their blue latte, to their Persian fairy floss covered shakes and french toast, and bruleed banana on their hot cakes, there’s no shortage of photogenic material. It makes for a great flatlay too, hence the constant standing up from numerous diners. We’re in 2018 after all!
Green Bull ($7)
When I was a student starting placement as a dietitian, I was keen to quickly jump straight into it. This meant teaching everyone on all the healthier alternatives they could be having:
• Having butter on your toast? Why not try a vegetable based spread?
• Drinking coffees with regular milk? Swap it for skim!
• Burger for lunch? How about a sandwich?
Of course, most didn’t take on the advice.
So apparently 2017 was the year of the Buddha bowl.
I’m not one to stay on trend, so I’m a little late getting on this bandwagon. But I’m loving bowls at the moment. Poké bowls, Buddha bowls, nourish bowls (to a lesser extent, smoothie bowls), you name it! Because hey, it means that eating colourful veggies is finally cool!
I can’t believe it’s June already, and the sudden change in weather is a sure sign that winter is well and truly here!
Which means, I’m doing away with the light green salads, and churning our the hearty soups, stews and curries in my kitchen!
But I’m not completely saying goodbye to salads. For something quick, and not so heavy, wintery salads make a great meal. Roasted vegetable salads are my go to in winter- just throw them in the oven to cook, then toss with a some salad leaves and a light dressing. It works well because almost all the winter veggies are great for roasting!
